Welcome to ITS Arizona
As President, representing the Board, I would like to welcome you to your ITS Arizona. Thank you for making 2010 one of the most successful years in ITS Arizona’s history. This is quite remarkable considering the state of the economy. Much of that success came as a result of your support and involvement with ITS Arizona. The Board would also like to express its appreciation for the leadership and effort provided by our past president, Steve Ramsey. He has manned the helm during a very difficult time and managed to not only keep us afloat, but sail forward.
So what’s up for 2011? Keeping with the nautical theme, do we sail forward, stop dead in the water, or sink? This is a rhetorical question. Of course, we intend to sail forward. ITS Arizona will continue to weather the economic storm, adapt to new conditions, and progress.
“Progress (history): the idea that the world can become increasingly better in terms of science, technology, modernization, liberty, democracy, quality of life, etc.” - Wikipedia
The Board’s overall goal for this year is to progress. We intend to build on the successes of the past and allow ITS Arizona to become better.
The Board’s focus areas for this year will be:
Budget – Stay fiscally responsible by balancing expenses and income with the needs of our members.
Annual Conference – “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Our annual conference has become the must-attend event for Arizona ITS professionals. Therefore, when we make changes, we are very careful not to disturb elements of the conference that our members like. This year the Board has approved a new streamlined and efficient planning process. Moving forward with this new planning process will free up more time to support other ITS Arizona activities.
Add Events – We have joined with ASPE and AZ ITE in sponsoring the annual holiday party.
Website Improvement – The Board recognizes that the current website has not been kept up to date and is lacking in content. A plan will be developed to address this problem.
The ITS Arizona Board is looking forward to the new year. That said, we are always looking for volunteers to help out with our various committees. In particular, we need help with our Website Committee and our Conference Committee. Please contact me if you would like to serve.
The Best,
Bob Steele
